Since the tour of the Mournes all focus has been to triathy double olympic( 3k swim/yuk!!!, 80k bike/lovely!!!,20k run/jurys out!!!)

Although It’s a training race and the hard sessions wont stop right up  until thursday with the race taking place on saturday. I’m looking forward to it.(except the 3k swim).. The course lends itself to be a bit crowded but the double olympic should be fun.. I’ve a whole new attitude to this race and it is a case of try something new.. that something new will be a slower bike split!!.. I’m glad to say Sailfish have been good enough to help me out this year.. I wore my new G-Range this week in the lough and it was sweet..

New Team

More good news is that I will be racing for Team Primera in conjuction with Training Bible Uk I hope to bag a few results for the team and be the ‘Irish guy’ representative!!!! I work already with Rob Griffths and am very happy to wear their colours! watch this space!

General chit chat!!

I’ve a busy(ish) schedule coming up,Triathy, Newry 3 Day, national 25 and road and then a few olympics.. I am looking to target a biggy late summer. A holiday will have to be thrown into the mix so Sardinia 222 is an option.. Id like to do it as a build for next season. But lets just get this season up and running for now!!!.. I hammered out a pb on the felda course last night with 20:30. A tough 10 and put gailforce winds into the mix along with a front deep 3 spoke, things nearly went pear-shaped.. My dad was behind in the van and he thought I was going down at one point.. I didn’t think I was on for a time until the last mile. It was a case of head down and don’t look at the clock..I also ran my first out-and-out foot race 2 weeks ago… A peculiar distance, 12.5km I didn’t know how to approach it.. It went well, I pb’d my 10k time so I was happy out.. The few pounds off makes a world of difference!!.. Now the trouble is keeping it off!.. the chocolate press calls me at times.. I havent given up on my fruit scones though… They are the perfect refuel option!

CONGRATS!!

Big congrats to all in my club Setanta who took part in big Irons and wee Irons last week. Some did Austria 70.3 and some did Lanzorote full… It was first attempt at such distances for some of the guys. Everyone represented themselves well but special mention goes to Owen Martin for qualifying for Vegas 70.3 worlds!!! I don’t know who’s more excited.. Him or Aisling!!! ;-))
